POSITION TITLE: Volunteer Program Coordinator (Grant position funded until 6/30/11)

SALARY RANGE: $22,000-$24000
POSITION INFORMATION: 30 hour per week, FT exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator is responsible to plan, develop, and implement volunteer, community prevention and outreach programs; and participate in fund raising initiatives in support of Prevent Child Abuse Rowan (PCAR) and the Terrie Hess (THH) Children's Advocacy Center (CAC).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Develops and Implement volunteer program, including systems for recruitment, training, placement, supervision and evaluation of volunteers.

Recruit and develop a team of volunteers who can respond to the varied needs of PCAR/ THH.

Plans, organizes, and implements volunteer recognition events and activities.

Develops and implements community outreach programs and events to identify childhood victims of abuse, arranging for volunteers and outside agencies to participate in programs as indicated.

Develops and implements child abuse community information and prevention programs, arranging for volunteers and outside agencies to participate in programs as indicated.

Maintains public education/communication avenues such as Facebook.

Maintains records on the number and type of programs presented, volunteer hours and donations received and prepares and submits summary reports to management.

Remains abreast of new and revised regulations, practices, and technological trends pertinent to position.

In coordination with Director, writes requests for individual or corporate donations in behalf of PCAR and THH.

Receives and acknowledges gifts in conformance with policies.

Maintains public contacts in the community and public/private sectors in order to implement fund raising strategies.

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality services to the community.

Other duties may be assigned.
COMPETENCY: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Knowledge of evidenced based prevention practices and community outreach strategies and community resources used to develop and present outreach and educational programs to the public; Public speaking; Principles, techniques, and media used in promoting public relations; Principles and practices of volunteer management; Methods and techniques of fund raising.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will be divided between an office environment, classroom settings, and sites within the county to perform work-related duties. Work may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel to locations within and outside of the State may be required. Incumbents may be required to work overtime as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in business, public relations, public health, education or equivalent combination of education and experience in volunteer management, fund raising, evidenced based prevention and/ or community outreach. Other combinations of experience and education that meet competency requirements may be substituted.
